"If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music which he hears, however measured or far away." ~ Henry David Thoreau "I'm a shining example of how far someone will go to avoid getting a real job." ~ Eric Haines "Just give me a rusty old banjo and I'll have the people tappin' their feet. There may be other folks that play it better But it never sounds so sweet;
Well, they say that music is food for the soul Let the spirit take you, cause baby we on a roll Just a rusty old banjo and we'll have a good time tonight."
~ Eric Haines, "Rusty Old Banjo" song

"Some people may prefer the symphony, If you're tastes are refined, you're in luck. A one man band sounds like the symphony ... ...is gettin' run over by a garbage truck." ~ alternate verse, "Rusty Old Banjo" |

Eric Haines, one man band, has a bass drum on his back, a banjo over his shoulder, and plenty of bells and whistles everywhere else! Kids and adults have the opportunity to play along on tambourines, spoons and a special washboard equipped with a cowbell.
The song list is a mixture of original tunes and parodies that Haines has composed himself for this instrument, and hits of the 1920's and before. The style is reminiscent of Dixieland Jazz.
The act pauses for interaction with the audience, and then continues as a roving act throughout the grounds. Book a one man band, and add a touch of whimsy to your roving entertainers! |
|
Comedyrocket.com recommends running Eric's stage show, multiple roving stilt characters, one man band, and roving unicycle act, each in a different costume, all in the same day.
Because Eric is a multi-talented performer, it gives the effect that there are several acts at an event, rather than a single person.
